JUST DIAL 8888888 is an information system created in 1995 with the aim to provide Information on Telephone. The application was initially launched in Mumbai and now is spread across to 8 cities in India. The system basically consist of categories under which organizations would registered in the database.  There system also accepts free registrations.  As   a rule with the data is retrieved, it is retrieved in a same sequence. Hence it would be unfair for those entries which appear at  latter part of the sequence. The system devised for this problem is ROTATION SYSTEM.( The rotation systems rotates the entries in a manner what has moved the last in the list becomes the first and the first move the middle and the middle move the the last. There by every one get a chance to be first. )  The system also has a lookup search for the categories and also lookup for companies. The companies lookup help the executive to lookup a particular a company directly without knowing the categories under which the company is listed. The system also provides a host of MIS reports for the management to decide on the next course of action. The salient features of the system are

• Selective Rights assigned to each user to (View, Edit, Add, Update)

• Reports rights only the management.

• Multi User System (Only 1 user can edit and entry at one time)

• 50 Terminals accessing the database simultaneously.

• Multi City data  available at single location.

The tools that were used to build the system were Clipper with Dbase Database.
